(1) The DSP module on the product was developed by the very talented folks at Desolation Sound Systems Inc. , in Victoria Canada. The DSP module was designed to be a very simple and affordable interface solution to our customers. With a unit cost of around $20 in quantity, the module offers a single input and dual output converter design, with a handful of LEDs and switches to effect a simple user interface. Even though the board is simple in interface, it uses 1st rate A/D and D/A converters and actually a quite powerful set of tools to tackle any 2-way speaker’s acoustic requirements.
An all in one solution containing a blank black aluminum panel, DSP, amp, and power supply module available for both the 1000W and 500W power level can be purchased from us. These “panel amps” offer a quick and easy way for our manufacturing clients to quickly evaluate the performance of our hardware and software. These panel amp also allow the speaker hobbyist a simple integrated solution for powering and equalizing their latest creation.
The DSP module is seen as somewhat of a starting point on what Desolation Sound can offer our customers as far as functionality in a DSP front end. With 23 watts of power available from the TKO power supply section, reserved exclusively for the DSP front end, and with Desolation Sound’s experience and background of design in this area, quite literally the power, performance and features of the user interface are only limited by the imagination of our customers.
